Valery Komarov — Moscow Department of Information Technologies (DIT)Valery Komarov is the head of the Awareness division of the Information Security Department, an information security specialist in the Moscow Department of Information Technologies, and lead auditor of BSI ISO/IEC 27001:2013. Valery Komarov is responsible for methodological support and improving the awareness of DIT employees on how to ensure the security of critical information infrastructure (CII) facilities, and safeguard information in state information systems and personal data information systems in Moscow. He participates in internal investigations of cybersecurity incidents and cybersecurity audits.
Before coming to the DIT, Valery Komarov was involved in ensuring cybersecurity at Rosenergoatom and Rostec. He won the Project of the Year: CIOs’ Choice contest with Service 360: a project to create a service IT infrastructure for the Rostec state corporation in terms of the information security system.
His articles are published in print and online media such as Information Security magazine, IT- Manager, User Security on the Internet website, and Securitylab.ru. He writes his own blog, The Mouthpiece of Paper Security.
Valery Komarov received the gratitude of the Mayor of Moscow for active participation in ensuring information security during the presidential election in Russia, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the election of the Moscow Mayor.
